Sharlene Dering, RN
Sharlene earned her RN degree at Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans in 2000, and was an
Intensive Care Nurse at Chalmette Hospital in Eastern New Orleans. It was there that she met and worked with
Dr. Belott with many of his bariatric surgery patients. She had lap band surgery herself in August of 2005 by
Dr. Belott, and has lost over 80 pounds. After Hurricane Katrina destroyed Chalmette Hospital, Sharlene
relocated to Doctors Hospital of Slidell, and is our local Bariatric Coordinator for our Slidell area patients.
